As a part of their sustainability initiatives, governments and organizations around the world are setting aggressive decarbonization goals to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 or before. According to the National Public Utilities Council (via Visual Capitalist), 137 countries have committed to carbon neutrality, and over 90%—124 of the 137 countries—are set to achieve neutrality by 2050, and the others are not far behind.
Most Americans don’t ever think about the centuries of engineering and trillions of dollars that have gone into creating the infrastructure systems that allow us to live our comfortable modern lives. Even when we feel like we have had a bad day, most would consider whatever is stressing us “first-world” problems.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were over 11 million job openings on the last day of April 2022. While this is great news for the millions of Americans looking to enter the workforce, change career paths or find new challenges in a new workplace, it means companies must work significantly harder to retain their valued employees.
